Bring your machine to life with TwinCAT HMI! Yes, this was made completely using TwinCAT HMI and a couple of STL files.
The best part?
• Requires little processing power – this isn’t running on some i7 Beckhoff IPC – the TwinCAT HMI server in this example is running on a CP6706 (Intel Atom, 2 cores processor). Animations are that much smoother the better the processor!
• Easy configuration – a few PLC variables were connected to each control in the TwinCAT HMI editor and that’s it.
What can be controlled for each STL file:
• Position – Show where an object is with smooth animations
• Color – Show the state of an object (idle, running, error, etc.)
• Rotation – Show doors opening, axes spinning, etc.
The details :
Our local Beckhoff team put together a Framework Control (see our blog for more details) that uses Babylon.js to load STL or SVG files into a scene with inputs for position, color, and rotation in the TwinCAT HMI editor.
Please contact Control Works if you are ready to take your HMI to the next level!
